We describe the performance of a single-frequency Q-switched Nd:YAG laser operating at 1.06 microm and optically pumped by a 100-mW diode laser. This system provides pulses of 6-microJ energy with peak powers greater than 125W at 40-nsec duration with less than 16-MHz linewidth.
