Abstract
It has been stated [Opt. Lett. 18, 846 (1993)] that a wavelet interpretation of the Huygens-Fresnel formula suggests the design of optical distributed filters that independently operate on different scales of the corresponding wavelet decomposition. This conclusion is argued to be in error.
