Cyanide poisonings associated with over-the-counter medication--Washington State, 1991.

On February 2, 9, and 17, 1991, three persons in western Washington state, who had taken SUDAFED 12-Hour capsules (manufactured by Burroughs Wellcome Company) for nasal congestion, had onset of acute cyanide poisoning; two died. This report updates an ongoing investigation by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other agencies.
