Abstract
As the author explains in detail, the need for healthcare staff to have confidence in their ability to quickly extinguish a fire has never been more important. Such confidence, he says, can only come from practical training, which is either not required today or avoided because of environmental concerns. Recent introduction of gas and digital fire simulators now make it possible to provide this essential training, he reports.
