Abstract

Diffraction field distributions of amplitude and phase are obtained for Gaussian beam incidence through an annular aperture lens. They show the effects of the Gaussian amplitude distribution of the incident field. The encircled energy of the diffraction field is also obtained. From the results the position of the waist of the field is defined.
