Forty five consecutive patients with simple patent ductus arteriosus were successfully closed using transfemoral catheter method originally introduced by Porstmann in 1967. However, some improvements of instrumentation and technic were made for achieving much more safety and reliability. The diameter of ductus shown in aortography was from 0.3 to 1.0 cm. Primary success was achieved after the first trial, two trials were necessary only in one case. Emphasis was put on the proper size and shape of plug in order to obtain excellent result. 1-54 months follow-up study after procedure revealed no residual shunt.
45例单纯动脉导管未闭患者采用1967年Porstmann最初介绍的经股动脉导管法成功闭合。然而，为了实现更高的安全性和可靠性，对器械和技术进行了一些改进。主动脉造影显示动脉导管直径为0.3至1.0厘米。首次尝试后即取得初步成功，仅1例患者需要进行两次尝试。为了获得优异的效果，重点在于封堵器的合适尺寸和形状。术后1至54个月的随访研究显示无残余分流。
