[Transrectal echography: diagnostic accuracy in the local staging of cancer of the prostate].

Herein we report on the results afforded by transrectal ultrasound relative to local staging of tumor in 18 patients who had undergone radical surgery for prostatic cancer. The diagnostic accuracy for prostatic capsule involvement was 83.3% and 100% when there was seminal vesicle invasion.
