Occupational hazards in hospital environments are well documented. Occupational health services, including health promotion and protection for hospital based employees, and environmental survellance activities, need to be increased and targeted for specific groups. Multi-disciplinary approaches to health hazard evaluation and risk reduction should be encouraged.
