[Patient-centered medicine: a physician's challenge].

The success of the biological and technical driven medicine is eminent. This disease-centered medicine however requires as a supplement and balance patient-centered medicine, which embraces the perspectives, values and preferences of the patient. Patient-centered care is as well important for a better patient-physician communication as for the diagnostic-therapeutic work of the physician.
