[Traditional medicine practices and health planning (example of traditional medicine in Mauritania, Adrar region)].

Diseases and symptoms observed in the Adrar (a region of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania) in traditional medicine are distinguished by the cause which is ascribed. There are fevers and other symptoms linked up to events of social life. The traditional treatments, which are very varied and numerous, use of plant, animal and mineral products of the ecosystem, are practiced by traditional practitioners. The deep knowledge of these practices will permit us to improve the medical planning, associating them in our primary health care strategies.
