In Djibouti, as in many developing countries, one particular aspect of primary cheiloplasty is that it concerns adults in more than 50% of cases. For these adults, afflicted with congenital cleft lip, the authors describe an out-patient surgical technique: loco-regional anesthesia of the superior maxillary nerve, use of the Tennisson incision, reconstruction of labial muscle performed following the principles of G. Couly.
