Abstract
A rare case of palatal blue nevus is reported. Nearly 200 cases of oral melanocytic nevi are reported in the literature, but histological data are often not given. In view of the difficulties encountered in clinical differential diagnosis, above all with reference to malignant melanoma, nevus lesions should be removed from the oral mucosa.
