We present the sonographic characteristics of a rare case of cholesterol granuloma within a renal epithelioid angiomyolipoma (AML) in a 57-year-old woman. Sonography showed acoustic shadowing distal to the central region of the AML behind a hyperechoic cholesterol, which was hypoattenuating on CT with no contrast enhancement. Microscopic examination confirmed that this central area was a cholesterol granuloma. The patient was treated successfully with radical nephrectomy.
我们报告了一名57岁女性肾上皮样血管平滑肌脂肪瘤（AML）内罕见的胆固醇肉芽肿病例的超声特征。超声检查显示，在高回声胆固醇后方的AML中央区域远端出现声影，CT上该胆固醇呈低密度，无强化。显微镜检查证实该中央区域为胆固醇肉芽肿。患者接受根治性肾切除术后成功治愈。
