[Preventive intraoperative irrigation in wound management with Lavasept. Report of experiences with 1,610 cases].

During the years 1984-1989 in the Surgery department of the Bezirksspital Wattenwil all soft-tissue injuries, beside open articulations, were cleaned with the new antiseptic "Lavasept" in a prophylactic way during operation. We are documenting the astonishingly low incidence of infections as well as the good tolerance of the cleaning substance.
