[Evaluation of orthopantomographic X-ray technique in the diagnosis of impacted upper canine].

In this article advantages and disadvantages of orthopantomographic x-ray technique in the diagnosis of the impacted tooth are discussed. Twenty patients were examined by orthopantomographic technique as well as by standard retroalveolar radiographs. The investigation showed that the orthopantomographic technique was not a predominant method in the diagnosis of maxillar impacted canine and that the standard retroalveolar method was more reliable.
