Abstract

The spatial orientation of the semicircular canals (SCC) was measured in the pigeon by fitting the best plane over 10 to 15 stereotaxically determined points to each canal. The vectors defining each canal plane are presented in the standard stereotaxic position and for free moving behavior, and the coplanarity or orthogonality of pairs of semicircular canals are discussed.
