The isolation rate of P. aeruginosa and enterobacteria from washed sputa and tracheobronchial exclude obtained from patients with pulmonary and pleural diseases varies within 54.9-56.9 +/- 6.9%. In most cases microorganisms have been isolated as monoculture from pleural fluid, including P. aeruginosa, the main etiological agent in pleural diseases, isolated in 65.4 +/- 10.6% of cases.
