[The role of paramedical personnel in combatting sexually transmitted diseases].

The authors present the main sexually transmitted diseases and point out the important role of the ancillary staff in their prophylaxis and control. Efficiency in this field depends highly on the team within, which the ancillary staff is organically integrated, besides the physicians. The paper insists on the conditions under which these diseases appear, the necessity of epidemiologic investigation, recording and compulsory treatment under medical surveillance. Irrespective of their specialty, the ancillary staff have an important role in the prevention and control of sexually-transmitted diseases.
