[Medical-psychological problems in dental practice].

Medical-psychological problems are of great importance in dental practice. The paper presents an overview on the ways of establishing the dentist-patient-relationship, on the perception of pain and anxiety, the influence of the dentist in this respect, the information process and psychological preparation for surgery. A thorough intervention-oriented consideration of the psychological factors involved will lead to a further improvement of quality and effectiveness in dentistry.
