In the acute phase, management begins with ruling out conditions that would require hospitalization. Moderate withdrawal symptoms in susceptible patients require substitution medication which can be monitored on an outpatient basis. In the subacute phase, after withdrawal, frequent visits, family education and judicious use of drugs are required. Depressive reactions are common. There are no reliable indexes for predicting the success of a return to controlled drinking.
在急性期，管理工作首先是排除需要住院治疗的情况。易感患者出现的中度戒断症状需要替代药物治疗，可在门诊进行监测。在亚急性期，戒断后需要频繁复诊、家庭教育以及合理用药。抑郁反应很常见。目前尚无可靠指标可预测恢复适度饮酒是否成功。
