The use of granular hydroxyl apatite is shown for filling large bone defects after cystectomies. Between 1983 and 1988 there were 30 cysts (with diameters 2 cm and more) supplied with this material. The behavior of the hydroxyl apatite was evaluated radiographically and clinically. This method has been found to shorten markedly the course of healing, especially in the upper jaw.
