The malignant fibrous histiocytoma is a tumor whose histological origin is still unclear. It occurs in the deep soft tissues and is only rarely found in the retroperitoneum. Because of scarse symptomatology during growth, the tumor is usually only diagnosed when it has reached considerable dimensions. Retroperitoneal origin is therefore difficult to diagnose by either ultrasonography or CT. Needle biopsy is at present the sole method which allows a precise diagnosis of the lesion to be made.
恶性纤维组织细胞瘤是一种组织学起源仍不清楚的肿瘤。它发生于深部软组织，仅罕见于腹膜后。由于其生长过程中症状稀少，该肿瘤通常在体积相当大时才被诊断出来。因此，无论是超声检查还是CT都难以诊断其腹膜后起源。目前，针吸活检是唯一能对该病变做出精确诊断的方法。
