An infrared TV-camera system was used for measuring real-time eye position in rabbits and monkeys. The eye was monitored with an infrared TV-camera and displayed on the monitor screen. The center of the pupil was determined every 17 or 33 ms with an accuracy of 1.5'. This technique made it possible to record eye movements stably without any attachments on the cornea or surgical invasion of the eyeball or periorbital tissues.
