INTRODUCTION
Emphysematous pyelonephritis (EPN) is a rare, life threatening, upper urinary tract infection with high mortality rate.
CASE REPORT
We report a type-2 diabetes mellitus patient presenting with persistent fever, vomiting and pyuria despite appropriate treatment, diagnosed as a case of EPN, recovered without any surgical intervention.
CONCLUSION
Suspicion of EPN should be entertained in diabetes mellitus patient with persistent pyuria and deteriorating condition despite adequate treatment with antibiotics.
引言
气肿性肾盂肾炎（EPN）是一种罕见的、危及生命的上尿路感染，死亡率很高。
病例报告
我们报告一例2型糖尿病患者，尽管接受了适当治疗，但仍持续发热、呕吐和脓尿，被诊断为EPN，未经任何手术干预即康复。
结论
对于尽管使用抗生素进行了充分治疗但仍持续脓尿且病情恶化的糖尿病患者，应怀疑患有EPN。
