[Fixation of posterior supporting structures of the spine in present-day vertebrology].

Based on his 10-years experience with the operative treatment of injuries of the vertebral column the author determines indications for operations of fixation of posterior supporting structures of the vertebral column depending on the character of injury and general state of the patient. The author proposes a fixator of the vertebral column providing a unilateral access to spinous processes, but with a bilateral fixation of the latters. By using the developed indications for fixation of the posterior supporting structures of the vertebral column the author has obtained 92% of good results, 6.2% of satisfactory and 1.8% of unsatisfactory results of surgical treatment of injuries of the vertebral column.
