Abstract

A yttrium aluminum borate [YAl(3)(BO(3))(4)] (YAB) crystal with UV cutoff wavelength of 165 nm is used as the nonlinear optical crystal for fourth harmonic generation. The fundamental frequency laser at 1064 nm from an Nd:YVO(4) master oscillator power amplifier laser was frequency doubled to 532 nm. Using the type I phase-matching YAB crystal, a 5.05 W average power 266 nm UV laser was obtained at the pulse repetition frequency of 65 kHz, corresponding to the conversion efficiency of 12.3% from 532 to 266 nm. The experimental results show great potential for the application of using YAB as a nonlinear optical crystal to get high-power fourth harmonic generation.

一种掺钕铝酸硼酸盐[YAl(3)(BO(3))(4)](YAB)晶体,其紫外截止波长为 165nm,用作倍频产生 4 次谐波的非线性光学晶体。Nd:YVO(4)主振荡器功率放大器激光器的基频激光在 1064nm 处被二倍频至 532nm。利用Ⅰ型相位匹配 YAB 晶体,在脉冲重复频率为 65kHz 时获得了平均功率为 5.05W 的 266nm 紫外激光,532nm 到 266nm 的转换效率为 12.3%。实验结果表明,YAB 作为一种非线性光学晶体,用于获得高功率四倍频产生,具有很大的应用潜力。
