[Experience with open reduction of congenital hip dislocation by the Ludloff method].

The authors have performed simple open reduction of congenital dislocation of the hip after Ludloff in 54 children aged 3 months to 3 years. The total number of the operated joints was 79. The authors believe that this method provides favourable development of the acetabulum in the children operated before 1-2 years of age with the initial acetabular index below 30-40 degrees. In the children aged 2-3 years it should be regarded as one of the stages in the treatment of congenital dislocation of the hip.
