Etonogestrel contraceptive implant is a highly effective subdermal method of long-acting hormonal contraception for women.
We describe a case of ruptured ectopic pregnancy occurring in a patient with an etonogestrel contraceptive implant (Implanon®). The only factor predisposing to a failure in this case is a moderately elevated body mass index of 29. However, the implant was in place for less than 2 years, and the plasma levels of etonogestrel were within the expected range.
This case report emphasizes the fact that ectopic pregnancy should not be formally ruled out in women using this contraceptive, and it highlights the need for further study of the effect of body weight on this contraceptive method.
依托孕诺酮避孕植入物是一种高效的皮下长效激素避孕方法，适用于女性。
我们描述了一例依托孕诺酮避孕植入物（Implanon®）导致的宫外孕破裂病例。唯一导致此次失败的因素是患者的体重指数略高，为 29。但是，该植入物使用不到 2 年，依托孕诺酮的血浆水平在预期范围内。
本病例报告强调了一个事实，即对于使用这种避孕方法的女性，不应排除异位妊娠的可能性，同时也需要进一步研究体重对这种避孕方法的影响。
