The snail status in Xuancheng City from 2005 to 2009 showed, both the snail area and the area with infected snails appeared a declining trend, however, re-emerging snails were found every year. Prevention and control interventions for schistosomiasis should be strengthened to reduce both snail area and infected snail area.
