[Effect of maternal genotype characteristics on fetal adaptation to intra- and extrauterine conditions].

Effects of the maternal genotype on the fetal and neonatal compensatory-adaptive patterns have been examined in 1396 newborns. Correlations were found between the ante- and intrapartum progress, physical development of the newborns, early neonatal course and the maternal phenotype. Maternal-fetal compatibility was found to influence the neonatal status and later morbidity and mortality. The maternal phenotype should be considered in the evaluation of risks during the development of medical and preventive activities.
