Injuries of the larynx and hyoid bone resulting from forces other than compression of the neck were found in 129 of 5591 cases (2.3%) of medico-legal autopsies performed between 1978-1987. Victims of blunt trauma showed these fractures in 6.7%, victims of incides or stab wounds in 9.2%, other cases in 0.4%. The results were compared with clinical observations of laryngotracheal trauma.
在1978年至1987年间进行的5591例法医尸检中，有129例（2.3%）发现喉部和舌骨损伤是由颈部受压以外的外力所致。钝器伤受害者中出现这些骨折的比例为6.7%，切割伤或刺伤受害者中为9.2%，其他病例中为0.4%。将这些结果与喉气管创伤的临床观察结果进行了比较。
