To compare calcaneal ultrasonometry and bone densitometry in the evaluation of morphometric vertebral fractures in men over 60 years of age.
We studied 96 men over 60 years of age by means of bone densitometry of the spine, femur and radius, lateral radiograph of the thoracic and lumbar spine, and calcaneal ultrasonometry.
Fifty-one percent of men had osteoporosis and vertebral fractures. Correlation was found between ultrasonometry stiffness index, T-score and bone mineral density of the spine, femur and radius (p < 0.01). Regarding the presence of fractures, there was a correlation only with BMD of the ultradistal radius (UD) and radius 33%. ROC curve showed accuracy only of UD radius BMD in detecting vertebral fractures.
Our study showed a correlation between osteoporosis diagnosis by ultrasonometry and densitometry in men over 60 years. It also showed a correlation between morphometric vertebral fracture and bone mineral density of the forearm.

我们通过对脊柱、股骨和桡骨进行骨密度测定、拍摄胸腰椎侧位X线片以及跟骨超声测定法,对96名60岁以上男性进行了研究。
51%的男性患有骨质疏松症和椎体骨折。超声测定硬度指数、T值与脊柱、股骨和桡骨的骨矿物质密度之间存在相关性(p < 0.01)。关于骨折的存在情况,仅与桡骨远侧端(UD)和33%桡骨的骨密度存在相关性。ROC曲线显示仅桡骨远侧端骨密度在检测椎体骨折方面具有准确性。
我们的研究表明,60岁以上男性通过超声测定法和骨密度测定法诊断骨质疏松症之间存在相关性。研究还表明形态计量学椎体骨折与前臂骨矿物质密度之间存在相关性。
