Groups vie for lucrative managed care accreditation business.

The race is on to determine which organization will become the accreditation agency of choice for the managed care industry. At stake is enormous clout at the state and national levels--and a lot of money. Squaring off against the traditional accreditation leader, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, are: the National Committee for Quality Assurance, the American Association of Preferred Provider Organizations, and the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission.
