Significant changes in the iodine, carbohydrate and protein metabolism are observed under conditions of prolonged iodine deficiency in the rat ration. The reason-consequent correlations between the main links of iodine metabolism are shown. Indices of protein and carbohydrate metabolism are stated to depend on the concentration of protein-bound iodine in blood.
