During the development of a Czechoslovak silicone cannula with an external diameter of 0.9 +/- 0.1 mm for reconstructive surgery of the lacrimal pathways a modification was elaborated to ensure adequately the inner cannulation of lacrimal canals, discontinuous due to injury. The surgical method involves the insertion of the cannula designed by the authors by means of fixed silk for sutures by means of a fixed loop at the ends of the cannula. Using a pigtail probe, first the stitch is drawn through the lacrimal pathways and then the fixed cannula.
