A surgical treatment with the use of an internal extraarticular compression was undertaken in 55 cases of tuberculous coxitis, mainly characterized by a severe destruction of cotyloid cavity and hip joint proximal end. At the same time 42% of these patients had been subjected to unsuccessful radical and stabilizing operations. The proposed compression device made it possible to cure all the patients to produce joint ankylosis. The results of the treatment were traced from 1 to 17 years. Forty two out of 54 patients resumed their work.
