Tarsorrhaphy: a laser-assisted approach.

Exposure keratopathy can be vision threatening. There are many techniques for excising lid-margin tissue. We used the carbon dioxide laser to assist in rapid removal of the superficial lid-margin tissue. The resulting excellent hemostatic qualities decreased the time, supplies, and ancillary help needed to do the tarsorrhaphy. Postoperative results were comparable to conventional techniques.
