The attitudes toward drinking of a cohort of 7th- and 8th-grade American Indians, mostly Arapahoe and Shoshone, living on Wyoming's Wing River Reservation were studied. The data suggest that these adolescents and their peers both approve of drinking and do drink even though they can get into trouble for illegal alcohol use.
