Analysis of the responses of graduate students, professional social service agency workers and community residents to scales measuring attitudes and beliefs about alcohol and alcoholism suggests that the professionals tend to reflect the opinions and biases of the community within which they work. The results are discussed in terms of the usefulness of the multidimensional model of attitude structure for comparing attitudes among various groups and the implications for professional and community education programs.
