[Morphology of the hyoid bone joint].

Anatomical, histological and CT examinations were performed on the joint between the body and the greater comu of the hyoid. The existence of an articular surface, articular capsule and joint cavity revealed that in many cases there is a true atriculation not only in newborns but even in adults. The joint cavity appears as a cleft on X-ray, sometimes leading to the wrong diagnosis of fracture of the hyoid bone.
