The ways of developing the mortality rate from respiratory and cardiovascular diseases have been studied in the Ukrainian SSR according to the data of the Bureau (Centre) of Health Statistics, Ministry of Health of the Ukrainian SSR, analysis of 18 thousand of death certificates in a number of regions of the Republic, analysis of materials of 545 autopsies in persons aged 75 and over. As a result of the studies conducted it was found that the mortality rate from respiratory diseases did not reflect the real mortality. The main inaccuracies in defining respiratory diseases as a cause of death were found in the age group of 60 and over and especially in the group of 75 years and over as the diagnoses in this age group were practically not verified.
根据乌克兰苏维埃社会主义共和国卫生部卫生统计司（中心）的数据，通过对该共和国一些地区1.8万份死亡证明的分析以及对545例75岁及以上人群尸检材料的分析，研究了乌克兰苏维埃社会主义共和国呼吸系统疾病和心血管疾病死亡率的变化情况。研究结果发现，呼吸系统疾病的死亡率并未反映实际死亡率。将呼吸系统疾病确定为死因时的主要不准确之处出现在60岁及以上年龄组，尤其是75岁及以上年龄组，因为该年龄组的诊断实际上并未得到核实。
