[Major trends in the development of methods for correction of myopia in the practice of world ophthalmology].

The authors have analyzed the patents developed in various countries of the world for improving the methods for myopia correction. Methods for surgical correction predominated in the USSR in the last 8 years, whereas abroad contact correction was the main trend of late. Major trends in the development of myopia correction methods in the world have been defined.
