[A method of hermetic sealing of the bronchial stump following resection of the lungs in patients with tuberculosis].

The article presents a new bronchus stump sealing technique after pneumonectomy in tuberculosis patients. A characteristic feature of the proposed technique is the use of suture appliance in conjunction with xenoperitoneum saturated with biologically active substances and fixed during operation by peribronchial interrupted sutures beyond the regeneration zone. A unique methodology of the xenoperitoneum sealing, including sterilization, freezing, drying and medicinal solution treatment processes, is described. Experimental and clinical observations suggest that the proposed technique is advantageous.
