[Change in the indices of direct count of bacteria in cultures and pond water at different pH].

Experiments were carried out with the pure cultures of Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus subtilis, and with pond water. The adjustment of pH of the culture or water to 8.8--9.0 facilitates the direct count of the microorganisms, and makes the results more accurate.
