Technical principles and clinical use are described of Doppler ultrasonography developed in 1982 method of measurement of blood flow in intracranial blood vessels. The advantages and disadvantages of the technique are compared with other methods used for determination of cerebral blood flow (extracranial ultrasonography, PET, SPECT).
