A plan for special interest divisions and study sections.

The establishment of special interest divisions and study sections within the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association was initiated with the approval of LC 21-88 by the Legislative Council. Plans for the initial stages for implementation were developed by the Ad Hoc Committee to Implement Special Interest Divisions: Barbara B. Shadden (chair), Larry E. Dalzell, Judith S. Gravel, Nancy P. Huffman, Sandra R. Ulrich, Peggy S. Williams (ex officio), Lynette R. Goldberg (ex officio), under the guidance of Robert L. Douglass, vice president for planning. More detailed guidelines are currently being developed that will lead to full implementation, beginning this year. Special interest divisions and study sections are being developed in accordance with the full plan approved by the Legislative Council.
