Abstract

The microscopic findings in 31 biopsies of patients with polymorphic eruption of pregnancy are reported with a literature review. Cutaneous changes include edema, dermal lympho-histiocytic infiltrate and epidermal lesions. We have found a correlation between the intensity of the inflammatory response and the presence of epidermal involvement. In our opinion, the histopathological changes may allow an accurate diagnosis with the adequate clinical information. Direct immunofluorescence did not reveal immunoglobulin or complement deposits in the ten cases studied. It may help in the differential diagnosis with nonbullous herpes gestationis.

本文报告了31例妊娠多形疹患者活检的微观检查结果，并进行了文献综述。皮肤改变包括水肿、真皮淋巴细胞-组织细胞浸润和表皮病变。我们发现炎症反应强度与表皮受累情况之间存在关联。我们认为，结合适当的临床信息，组织病理学改变可实现准确诊断。在研究的10例病例中，直接免疫荧光未显示免疫球蛋白或补体沉积。这可能有助于与非大疱性妊娠疱疹进行鉴别诊断。
