[Primary cytostatic therapy of progressive squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity].

Reported on therapeutic study by 20 patients with inoperable carcinoma of the oral cavity. Primary we made a systemic antineoplastic chemotherapy with combination of methotrexate, bleomycine and vincristine. After the cytostatic therapy we lead through an operative revision or a radiological treatment. The patients live on an average 11.5 months. This is not longer than in the control-group with solitary radiological treatment. At present we cannot recommend the neoadjuvant chemotherapy of progressive squamous cell carcinomas of the oral cavity.
