Abstract

The purpose of this project was to analyze the clinical practice guidelines for management of long-term care residents with dementia and draft an adaptation for implementation. The adaptation focused on individualizing interventions derived from evidence-based research and included strategies to maximize staff buy-in and implementation. The overall goal of the guideline is to decrease psychotropic medication use, particularly antipsychotics.
