Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To review the research progress of promoting the bone formation at early stage by components of the extracellular matrix (ECM).

METHODS

Recent literature concerning the influence of these components on new bone formation and bone/implant contact was extensively reviewed and summarized.

RESULTS

Coating of titanium or hydroxyapatite implants with organic components of the ECM (such as collagen type I, chondroitin sulfate, and Arg-Gly-Asp peptide) offers great potential to improve new bone formation and enhance bone/implant contact, which in turn will shorten recovery time and improve implant stability.

CONCLUSION

The increasing knowledge about the role of the ECM for recruitment, proliferation, differentiation of cells, and regeneration of tissue will eventually deal to the creating of an artificial EGM on the implant that could allow a defined adjustment of the required properties to support the healing process.

目的

综述细胞外基质(ECM)成分促进早期骨形成的研究进展。

方法

广泛查阅并总结近期有关这些成分对新骨形成及骨/种植体接触影响的文献。

结果

用ECM的有机成分(如I型胶原、硫酸软骨素和精氨酸-甘氨酸-天冬氨酸肽)包被钛或羟基磷灰石种植体,在改善新骨形成和增强骨/种植体接触方面具有巨大潜力,这反过来将缩短恢复时间并提高种植体稳定性。

结论

对ECM在细胞募集、增殖、分化及组织再生中作用的认识不断增加,最终将有助于在种植体上创建人工ECM,从而能够对所需特性进行明确调整以支持愈合过程。
